The short version
Your text never leaves your device. All conversion on chattoword.com and in the ChatToWord Chrome extension happens locally in your browser. We do not collect, store, transmit, or sell your conversations or documents.
The website
Text you paste into the converter is processed with JavaScript in your browser tab. It is never sent to our servers. The optional developer API (/api/convert) processes submitted markdown in memory to produce a document and does not log or retain content.
The Chrome extension
The extension reads the chat response you choose to export, converts it to a Word document locally, and downloads it. It does not transmit conversation content anywhere. It stores two things locally on your device: your daily export count and, if you buy Pro, your license key. The only network request the extension makes is license validation, which sends the license key alone (never any conversation content) to chattoword.com.
Payments
Pro subscriptions are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. Stripe's privacy policy is at stripe.com/privacy. We keep no customer database; your license key is derived from your Stripe subscription and verified on demand.
Analytics & ads
The website uses privacy-friendly, aggregate analytics (page views, referrers) with no cross-site tracking. Sponsor placements are static links we sell directly, with no third-party ad trackers.
